David started hunting with his grandfather almost before he was able to walk on his own. He helped handle beagles and carried rabbits and squirrels in the footsteps of the man who gave him the desire to be in the woods and on the water of his home state of Tennessee.

David lives with his wife of 20 years Kimberly, there daughter Emily, pomeranian Yogi and black lab Tully.

David began his waterfowl passion while in college at the University of Memphis where Arkansas and the Mississippi River were just a few minutes away.

David begins his waterfowl season each year on September 1st on the Tennessee resident canada goose season right into the early wood duck/teal season and then into the late season where he hunts all over Tennessee, Arkansas and other states and continues on into the Snow Goose Conservation season in the spring.

David contest calls in his spare time in both duck and turkey contests around the state and has won and placed in several contests in both categories. His full time job is in Academic Affairs at Middle Tennessee State University and along with being a Field Expert for DRAKE Waterfowl Systems he also is a Pro-Staffer for Turpin Custom Game Calls.

David travels all over the country and has hunted Texas, Wyoming, Ohio, Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida , Illinois, Missouri and several other states in pursuit of waterfowl, wild turkey, whitetail deer, pronghorn antelope, crows, wild hog and other small game but his passion for waterfowling is still #1. He considers waterfowl hunting the one outdoor passion he could never give up.

David enjoys getting kids and adults both into the sport of waterfowl and turkey hunting. He says seeing someone take there first wild turkey or first mallard dropping in with feet in your face is about as good as it gets.

David is also a Stones River Chapter DU Volunteer, Stones River Chapter NWTF President and serves on the NWTF State Board of Directors for Tennessee.
