Email: errollcheney@yahoo.com My name is Erroll Cheney. Besides being an avid waterfowl hunter, I am a husband, father of two grown daughters and grandfather to two grandsons and four granddaughters. When not hunting, one of my favorite pastimes is collecting quality antique working decoys. For over thirty years, I worked for a major recreational vehicles manufacturing company. After being transferred from the west coast to Indiana in 1996, I gave up big game hunting and began concentrating on waterfowl. However, it was in 1973, while residing in the Central California town of Merced, just down the mountain from Yosemite National Park that I started hunting waterfowl. Since retirement in October, 2000, I have continued to pursue waterfowl hunting outside of the country. Each spring since 1988, I have hunted South America....Paraguay for pigeons and Argentina for ducks and geese. As a retiree, I have been fortunate to have added Canadian provinces.....Alberta in September....either Saskatchewan or Manitoba in October....and Ontario in November. Also, starting in November through January, I hunt in Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska and Missouri. While I have done some public guiding for hire in the past, I do very little now, as I am very busy putting private hunting groups together and escorting them on hunts in and out of the USA. I don't do calling contests as my "contest" calling ability is suspect. My continued success in the field is more important to me. We must all continue to propagate our passion for the sport by sharing it with the next generation. Introducing my two grandsons, 18 and 16 years old, to waterfowl hunting several years ago has been one of my greatest joys. My constant hunting companion is my 9 1/2 year old black Labrador, (Top Brass dot Com) or "Dot" for short. She is from Jackie Mertan's Top Brass kennel, Elgin Illinois and sired by "Ebonstar Lean Mac". She is a small "55 lb." package of pure energy and enthusiasm with a giant heart. She rarely fails to impress and surprise my fellow hunters with her speed and marking ability.
