George started hunting with his grandfather and uncles when he was just twelve years old. He first hunted squirrels then deer, and began waterfowling in 2004. In addition to his native Tennessee, George hunts all over the country including regular trips to Texas, Kansas, Kentucky and Alabama in pursuit of whitetail deer, turkeys and coyotes.
George and his seven year old chocolate lab JEWEL have also hunted South Dakota and Arkansas for pheasants, duck and geese. George has hunted with many prominent and professional hunters including Phil Robertson, known to fans around the country as the "Duck Commander." He has also received shooting lessons from
Wendell Cherry in 2008 and regularly participates in Sporting Clays events.
George maintains annual or life memberships in no fewer than fourteen including Christian Bowhunters of America, Pheasants Forever, Delta Waterfowl, Quail Forever and Quail Unlimited, North American Hunting Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Tennessee Clay Target Complex and National Sporting Clays Association. He is a Second Amendment Task Force member of the National Rifle Association who also
possesses a Lifetime Sportsman's License from the State of Tennessee.
A certified Hunters Safety Instructor for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, George enjoys sharing his love of the outdoors and introducing hunting to Volunteer State youth. George lives in Nashville with his wife of twenty years, Melissa, and their daughters Hannah and Isabella. He has been a Field Expert for Drake Waterfowl since 2004.
